    Hi CU04091153-0,

    A few questions:
Assuming that you are using TrvExpenseCategoryEntity to migrate data or import data, have you created the Advertisting Expenses category in the Category master (Expense management -> Setup -> General -> Expense categories) and marked it as UseInExpense? Also, have you defined these parameters in the Expense categories section?

    Suggestions:
If the answer to question number 1 is a no, then would recommend you to do the same. Screen clips provide details from the ExpenseCategory screen setup and the backend Category table.

    Hi Salim,

Thank you for suggesting related thread. However, I have not made any changes to the standard Expense category entity. I have checked the mapping of the entity in the target entity and there is no difference from the Source entity.

    Hi Salim

Thank you for detailed instruction for how to check the mapping.

I have checked the mapping  for Expense category entity and it has the Source & Staging field as 'Expense Category' which I think is the field for Category Id.

    Steps to check mapping:

    • Go to System Administration > Data Management.

    • Open the Data project used for the migration.

    • Click View Mapping on the entity (like EcoResCategory or LedgerCategory).

    • Review how source fields (like CategoryId, Name) map to target fields.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Raj,

The project category is not setup in the source company so not sure why would this impact in copying the expense category in the target company.

    Hi Adis,

    Thanks for clarifying.

I am trying to copy the Expense category form which you have provided screen shot from Source to Target company and I cannot see the Advertising/Promotions category as it is ending up with the error.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing. The shared categories are global and you will find all no matter from which legal entity you are looking.

The expense category are created from the shared categories, i.e. they are child records from the shared categories.
You need to check in this form if you have the Advertising/Promotions category and also set up correctly.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi,

The issue maybe lies in the mapping or relationship in target legal entity. Check if the project category is properly linked to shared category.
Also, Ensure that Category hierarchy and Expense purpose configurations are consistent across legal entities, as missing links can trigger this error.

    Thanks.
