How does the Select Entries from Item Tracking works on LIFO or FIFO?

Dear Experts,

I have a scenario where I am using Select Entries function from Item Tracking page. The Quantity is automatically selected based on the Qty availability, which is absolutely working fine.

But the problem is that the Lot No. is entered by the user, so the qty is selected based on the lot no. Meaning I have checked the code, SetCurrentKey has been added on Lot No and Serial No. So the selection happens based on ascending order of Lot No.

Now I want this to happen based on the posting date of the Lot No. entries. For Ex. If LOT002 has posted before LOT001 then the selection should consider LOT002 first, assign all the available qty from LOT002 and then come to LOT001. This is because of the expiry of the goods in LOT002 is earlier than LOT001.

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Regards

The action "Select Entries" is not based on the item's costing method. As the first step, current algorithm collects item tracking specifications and total quantities from open item ledger entries. Entries here are ordered by lot no. and serial no.
