We are currently in the progress of migrating from using the list component with an on-premise sharepoint to using server side sharepoint integration with sharepoint online.
The actual upgrade to use the server side integration and the document migration has gone smoothly.
The problem is in relation to the throttling that sharepoint is imposing for queries returning more than 5000 items.
We have 30,000 accounts and from our current integration with Dynamics, each has had a folder created under the Account document library in sharepoint. Each account may have between 1 and 100 documents in it. When viewing through dynamics we can initially see these documents, BUT the list is sorted by the document path. This is not helpful for us and we need to be able to sort the documents by date. As soon as the sorting is changed on the document grid, all of the documents disappear and the error message 'A list of files from the following document locations could not be retrieved' is displayed.
We have tried to add SharePoint indexes to the modified date columns and name columns - but still no joy.
I have logged this here (although its a SharePoint throttling issue) as its most likely that users of dynamics will have come up against this problem.
