Hi BC Guru's,

Is it possible to setup so that a service order is emailed after it is posted?

Much appreciated!

To the customer presumably? There is a standard way to have it so when a service order line is marked with the FINISHED status an email is sent to the customer. The documentation on this is super bad.

You need codeunits 5917 and 5918 adding to the job queue entries list. These take care of two things: SLA updates to internal email addresses and sending customer updates. Note that on the service order you need the “Notify Customer” field value to be by e-mail and you obviously need an email address. Details on using this: joshanglesea.wordpress.com/.../

failing that some of the other suggestions are great so perhaps trying those is best.

    Hi

    1) I tried to use Power Automation but could not find a method for it. JAngle knows more about Power Automation. See the following examples. You need to do some research to find the exact scenario. I hope this help

    2) You can use 3rd party app such as https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/dynamics-365-business-central/PUBID.sim_crest%7CAID.autoemail%7CPAPPID.1c9f9809-0e2b-40c9-905b-51916c86f167?tab=Overview

    3) Go for small development to do this.

Power Automate could do that for you pretty easy.
