Hi,

I have a presentation about new features in D365 F&O and there is one feature, that I can't understand how it works.

This feature is Check the completeness of accounting distribution within vendor invoice workflow:



Can anyone know how I could present a quick demo of how this feature works? Or maybe there is some Microsoft documentation about it, that I can find? I would really appreciate some help with this.

    Hello,


    This feature recalculates the account distribution (main account + financial dimensions) on the invoice at submission time. It validates consistency with the account structure and returns an error at this stage, before proceeding to the approval request. Then, you can go forward with the approbation flow and use the main account / financial dimension present into the document as workflow criteria as well:

    For you demo, you can do a workflow with main account or financial dimension as criterion to drive your flow.

    It sounds simple, but thorough testing is necessary before launching into production.
    Because if:
    Dimension setup isn't synchronized
    Users haven't been properly trained on allocation methods
    There are custom workflow steps
    → The system might block a large number of invoices.
    Therefore, when demoing, you should:
    Explain the business value first
    Then demonstrate the error scenario
    Finally, demonstrate the correct flow
    This will help the audience understand why this feature exists.

    Hi,

    Than you for your answers. I still have problems with this feature and can't see it's working.

    I created a workflow for vendor invoices with activation condition based on accounting distributions dimensions:



    When I'm creating invoice from purchase order despite having different value of this dimension in accouting distributions the workflow is still activated:




    I'm affraid that that I still don't know how this feature works. I was trying turning this feature on and off with a lot of different conditions in workflow and different settings in accounting distributions and I didn't saw any difference in working with this feature enabled or disabled.
