NAV 2009 - Accidentally closed fiscal year 2013

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello, We are using NAV 2009 R2. When we closed 2012, we accidentally closed 2013. I understand we do not have an option to re-open 2013 once it is closed.  It seems like we can still post everything in 2013 no problem and NAV genarates B/S, Income Statement all right.  Beside, all entries we post in 2013 now marked as previous-year posting in G/L, is there any issue keep using closed 2013 ?  Thank you.

    Hi,

unfortunately, there is. This can become an issue if you have to filter the final postings at years's end close.

To re-open the year 2013, you would need help from your NAV partner (unless you have NAV developers in-house and a C/AL license). It is also important to also remove the "Prior-Year Entry" mark from all entries of 2013.

    with best regards

    Jens
