POS 2009 - Pay In, opposite to a Pay Out

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone

I presume this is where POS 2009 questions go as I can't find a specific section.

I've been asked to investigate whether it is possible to have a Pay In button on one of the task pads, this would act in the opposite way to a Pay Out. I thought you might be able to do this in a similar way to RMS where you just put a negative figure in but POS 2009 does not allow this.

It seems like the facility is there or it has at least been thought about because when you do a Pay out, the receipt that prints has two columns, one for Pay in and one for Pay Out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

    Hi Jeff

Thanks for the response. Nope this isn't a layaway function, I couldn't work out why they would want to do a pay in but the shop has requested whether this is possible.

A negative dollar amount isn't possible, the system just comes back saying this is not allowed.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks

    Chris

We don't sell/use/recommend/support POS2k9, but isn't this a layaway function?  Cannot believe someone pays you money that you don't return in some form!

Otherwise try a negative dollar pay out.  Never tried it and don't have a clue how POS2k9 would deal with it.
