I have an admin account and a functional account for testing at work. I log out of my main account to test in the functional. Problem is we found that I was unable to connect to the VPN on that account while working off site. Regular account works fine.
How can I get connected to CRM using the functional account while working off site?

As mentioned above, this is very dependent on a number of things with your setup, so your IT admin is the best resource. However, one thing you might try in the interim is connecting to your VPN as your main user, and then shift + right-clicking on the icon for whatever browser you're using. This should (in most OS's) give you a "Run as different user" option. You'll then be prompted for user credentials, and you could put in the functional user.
This has nothing to do with Dynamics product. Please reach out to your company IT admin to find out the issues around user account setup or VPN limitation, etc/
