Unable to GET data from customer data entity using Postman

I am trying to get customer data using Postman from standard customer data entity of D365FO. As you can see below after setting environment variables I can get the authorization token from D365FO, however the I can't get data from POSTMAN, surprisingly I can get data when I try the same URL in Chrome browser.

I am also setting Authorization token in the header of GET call to fetch data.

Environment variables in POSTMAN:

Authorization token POST call:

Blank data in POSTMAN???

Data received in Chrome Browser:

Any idea, what am I missing in POSTMAN? Why I can't get data in POSTMAN if the same URL is fetching data in browser?

    Hi Anas,

Although, I haven't tried consuming odata entity using POSTMAN instead I tried with .NET application to consume them. But, I read somewhere you need to define the data format for GET call of D365FO. Please, refer below link it might be helpful to you. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/data-entities/third-party-service-test

    Thanks

The issue is resolved now. The resolution was if we are not passing username and password, we can still retrieve data if we use "cross-company=true" query parameter in the OData endpoint URL. And if we are passing in user credentials then D365FO returns data for the default company of that user.

We may not need to use cross-company query parameter. What we need to do is to look for the user which is linked to Azure AD app and then configure default company for that user. In my case it was set DAT. That's why I wasn't getting any data at all! Changing company to any other company containing data resolved the issue for me.

    1. Find Azure AD application user:

    User-default-company.png

    2. Change user default company from DAT to <some-other-entity>:

    User-default-company.png

    3. Then we can GET data from D365 even without using cross-company=true query parameter.

Hi Muhammad, I am experiencing this same exact problem. I can get a token but I cannot GET the data from my custom entity.

I am a little confused by how you got from step 1 to 2. I did all the prerequisites that are necessary in ADD, but I am very novice with D365.

If you could please just shed a little light on how you got to step 2 I would be deeply grateful. In my Azure AD application user I only have the 3 fields as you do in step one.

    Thank you for your time.
