Fixed asset Scrap issue

Hello guys, I am in a bit of a fix here, I had a requirement to move Fixed assets from one book to another due to a calendar change. I have been able to do that, and I proceeded to scrap the assets in the old books while the new books are still open. but on running my Fixed asset register, the assets are no longer part of the register. I expected the assets to show up since I still have it open but via the new books
