Hi, I am using dynamics 365 on premise, it seems that I can use non-filtered sql report after I added reporting service account to the DB security, is it going to break anything?

hi,
If you are using non-filtered sql.. then there will not be any any security or permission based data retrieval.
Hi, thanks for the explanation. one thing that I understand is that when I run the report in CRM, it is running under my account or the service account? how come service account could bypass the security?
hi..
It does't break anything but data in report shown will not retrieved based on user security. Those filters you have to add manually.
e.g. if you want to show "my quote" or quotes created by specific user if you use filtered sql then this filter will be automatically added but for non-filtered sql report you have to pass parameters and need to add filter condition in report.
Also another thing need to keep in mind, when you install any future update for CRM, then might be this service account will be removed from DB security and need to add again.
Hope this will help..
Hello,
I don't think it'll break anything.
