Re: Re: Limiting A/P to only use certain GL Accounts (Naturals)
I have been looking at the manual and I will do some testing, but in case anyone has done this before, I had a question. It seems like one of setups where I would want to grant access to all, then take away a few as opposed to picking all the thousands of accounts to grant access to with the exception of a few.
We have a class for AP called AP COORDINATOR. I have created an organizational structure with Company, under that A/R and A/P and under those Manager and Processor. I have Assigned the AP COORDINATOR task to the Processor under the A/P division. There is this check box that says Grant Access to All accounts. I was hoping that I could Grant Access to all accounts, and then be able to take away the 5 "Natural Accounts" they can't use. This doesn't seem to be working like I would want it.
The other issue I have is setting up everyone. As soon as I turn on "Account Security" if all the other 15 classes we use have not been assigned to a level of the organizational tree, do they automatically "not" have access to any accounts unless specifically granted?
As you can see, my issue is really restricting about 10 users out of 100 in a particular class to not be able to use 5 natural accounts (about 350 accounts out of 3500 total). But if I have to spend days trying to set-up the entire organizational structure for just this task and every user Class, when no other class or user needs to be changed, it seems like overkill.
Suggestions?
