I experienced the same issue when copying / restored from the admin portal. My sandbox environment was deleted in LCS so i had to create a new environment in powerapps and deploy with talent. I am still searching for a way to copy the Talent production data/environment to the Talent sandbox/test.
Also i tried this without any luck.
Hello, has restoring the database via 365 admin portal been confirmed working? I am able to create a backup. I was also able to restore the database to a sandbox environment. Unfortunately when completed the environment got deleted in LCS and became unavailable.

as previously mentioned, if it's CDS2.0 and the backup can be done as Malin said, you can request it from Microsoft. Just create a ticket and they will call you.

Hi Abhimanyu,
One of my customers just updated to the new CDS for Apps (CDS 2.0) and now I find the Backup as you find backups for Customer Engagement (CRM). As you can see in the picture the system creates backups every day and you can set a new backup if you are planing on doing something that may brake the system (because you can restore from the backup, not that you should "test" in production)
Do you know any templates for DMF export ? Are there any in asset library.
Not all of the data in Talent can be synced with CDS at this point. So even if (in theory, and I haven’t tested it) you could backup the CDS entities and restore them in a different environment, you would still be missing data from Talent.
Per Microsoft they would be using Common data services for APPS in latest D365 for Talent.
Also for CDS 2 we can go to Dynamic 365 Administration center and perform backup and restore.
This information i framed till now. Could you advise on this?

To my knowledge, it all happens through LCS.

I don't know for Talent, but for CRM Online you need to contact Microsoft Support and ask them for this.
