Is there a way to copy Integration Table & Field Mapping setup from one company to another?

Hi everyone,

I’m aware of the overall integration process between Dynamics 365 CRM (Dataverse) and Business Central, and we’ve already implemented and tested the synchronization successfully.

Scenario:

  1. Data sync from Dynamics 365 CRM → Business Central is fully configured and working perfectly in our Master Company.
  2. We now need to sync the same CRM data from the Master Company → 8 other companies in Business Central.
  3. So far, we've manually configured the sync (Integration Table Mapping – 5335 and Integration Field Mapping – 5336) in 3 companies, and it's working fine.

However, the manual setup process is time-consuming, especially when the table and field mappings are identical across companies.

My Question:

Is there any out-of-the-box feature or recommended method in Business Central to copy the Integration Table Mapping and Field Mapping setup from one company to another?

Any guidance would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Akash.

Recommended Approach: Copying Integration Setup Across Companies
Unfortunately, Business Central does not offer an out-of-the-box feature to copy integration mappings across companies directly via the UI. However, here are few reliable methods to achieve this efficiently:
Method 1: Use Configuration Packages (RapidStart Services)
You can export and import the mappings using Configuration Packages, which is the most recommended and supported method.
    Steps:
    1. Go to the Master Company.
    2. Open Configuration Packages.
    3. Create a new package and add these tables:
      • 5335 Integration Table Mapping
      • 5336 Integration Field Mapping
    4. Export the package.
    5. Switch to the target company.
    6. Import the package and apply the data.
This method ensures data integrity and is safe for production environments.
Method 2: Use Data Transfer via Excel
If you prefer a manual but controlled method:
    1. In the Master Company, open each table (5335, 5336) and export to Excel.
    2. Switch to the target company and import the Excel files back into the same tables.
Ensure that the Integration IDs and Table IDs remain consistent across companies.
Method 3: Develop a Custom Codeunit or Job Queue
If this is a recurring task or part of a deployment pipeline, you can:
    • Create a Codeunit that reads data from 5335 and 5336 in the Master Company.
    • Inserts the same data into the target companies using CHANGECOMPANY.
This requires AL development and proper error handling but offers automation.

    Best Practice Tip
After copying the mappings, validate the integration setup in each company:
    • Check Integration Table Synch. Setup (Table 5338).
    • Run a test sync to ensure no missing dependencies.
Note: This response was created in collaboration with Microsoft Copilot to ensure clarity and completeness. I hope it helps to some extent.

Go with the configuration package, that's the only easy route which you can try for. I was thinking of some PowerShell triggers but it may also trigger it's own chaos.

As far as I know there is no easy way other than Configuration Package.
However, I have not tried to import the data of these two tables through the Configuration Package. There may be certain risks, such as there are some triggers on the page that must be executed.
Although it is time-consuming, I personally recommend that manual creation is still a better option for now.
You can also submit this idea to Microsoft.
