Refactoring an US Localized app in to Generic app

Hi Experts,

Hope you are doing well!!

We are about to migrate our current app into a generic app. But we are not sure what would happen in case of appsource and what it impacts on current existing customers.

Our current app is build on US localization means our solution is compiled on US version of BC 17 (its published on appsource).

Now we want to refactor our solution into two apps e.g Generic App(which would be compiled on w1) + US version (which would be compiled on US version of BC along with Generic app).

  1. Now which app should be publish on appsource the Generic one or US one?
  2. If we go with any of the app on appsource then how can we provide the another app to our existing US clients?
  3. And when we refactor the US app then the AppID in extension will be different, so in that case existing customers would be able to migrate data through intelligent cloud?
  4. And can we upload multiple apps in a single appsource offer, like Generic app and US app both in a zip file. And if yes then when client install this zip file both apps would be install automatically?
  5. Last but not least, can we create multiple offers with the same offer name in appsource with the different supported countries in store front details?

e.g AppA

                Supported countries – US

AppB

                Supported countries – AU

Thanks

Hi, I will try to answer about the points that I know somehow. But best is to contact your partner.

    1. Both of these. Generic one for International and US one for US specific.

    2. They can get it from app source or you can install it using the .app file as well.

    5. You can give you apps names as app for US and app for International version. But these will be different.
