Problems displaying entity in the Excel connector Microsoft Dynamics Add-in

Hello everyone,

I have just exposed an entity to work with DFM and to also allow editing of information in Excel through the Microsoft Dynamics Add-in. The problem I'm facing is that I can view the entity, import, and export data through Data Framework Management, but the entity does not appear in the Microsoft Dynamics Add-in. The entity configuration is set to public and allows editing, so I'm not finding the issue that prevents it from being visible in the Add-in. Could it be that I need to publish it from some section of F&O?

Hi,

Can you tell us what exact data entity you are using here? If the data entity is set to public, you should be able to find the entity using the public entity name of the data entity. Do you have system administrator rights? If not, check if the user has proper permissions to the data entity.

Hi,

Yes, you need to publish the newly created data entity from Data management parameters.

Hi,

If your entity is public, you should be able to use Excel add-in, what are the security roles assigned to you? Are you able to use Excel Add-ins with another entity?

Hello everyone,

The entity is a custom entity, the roles are admin, so it should be able to be viewed without problems, I updated the entities from parameters, from DMF I can see it, import and export, but where it does not appear is in excel Add -In. I did not publish it because first I had an error when publishing it, and second, because I understand that BYOD has nothing to do with Microsoft Dynamics Add-In

I found the table. The problem was the table name. I was searching for it using the name I saw through DMF, but in Excel, it appears with the label in Spanish (which is the configured language). However, a clarification for those who may have a similar issue is that the MSD Add-in connector works with OData, so when the entity is published and the entity list is refreshed, it should be available for the connector without further action. It’s simply a matter of finding it in the list by its name
