How to make slight modification in System Workflows?

Posted on by 343

Hi,

How can we do changes in a workflow that is coming with the system. For example, the workflow Field Service - Generate Work Order for Agreement Booking Date, I want to make changes in the status of the work orders that are being created by using this workflow. How can I do this modification in this workflow?

If anyone can help me in this regard, would highly appreciate.

Thanks.

No, not the label. There are other statuses as well. Currently, the workflow is setting the status to schedule, I want to set that to another status which is already present in the system. It's just that the workflow is setting that value which I want to change. Changing the label will create a duplicate status for example if I change the label of Scheduled to In Progress then there is already a status with the name In Progress. That's not going to work.

I hope you got my point. I wonder if there is any way that we can edit this workflow?

So basically you want to update label of status but not workflow step anyway.

You can do it using form customization -> fields -> status -> update label of option set value as "In progress". Once you done with customization please do publish and refresh CRM. The changes will be automatically reflected in workflow "Field Service - Generate Work Order for Agreement Booking Date".

I did same thing in one of the project and its working fine for me.

    Hi Pravin,

I want that when the work order is generated through the workflow "Field Service - Generate Work Order for Agreement Booking Date", I want to change the status of the word order from schedule to In Progress and same with the booking as well. Currently, when the work order is generated through this work order, its marked as Scheduled and the booking also marked as Scheduled. I want to change the status to something else (may be in progress or pending movement). How can I change it? I am unable to find a way of doing it.

    Hi,

You will need to use Deactivate button from ribbon to make any modification to the workflow.

Once you are done with the changes, make sure you activate it again.

Please mark my answer verified if i were helpful

Can you please explore more on requirement ?

    1. Do you want to update status of work order using workflow ?

    2. Do you want to update status in dynamics which is being used in this workflow ?
