ODATA General Request Error

Posted on by

Hi! I have a problem with ODATA NAV Web Services. If i try to test the web service url with internet explorer I get this general error: "The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details."

I have tryed with query and page odata services and I always get the same error. Anyone has a clue about this? I have searched on the windows logs but there's nothing related to this. Maybe I am not searching in the right place?

Soap is working properly and the same setup in a different server is working.

Scenario: NAV 2016 CU2 - Windows Authentication - SOAP and ODATA Enabled. Windows Server 2012R2 - 3 Tier Setup

Thanks

    RE: ODATA General Request Error

Error: "The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details."

Solution: Resolve compilation errors in the underlying published web services.  In our case the table in a page's data source had an error when we compiled the table.  We fixed the error, removed and added the services once more and this resolved the error in multiple services.

    Solved:

As Suresh recommended there was a problem with web service names.

All names were different. Renaming services doesn't solve the problem. What I did was removing all web services and adding just the one I am testing with ODATA and that worked! :)

Now I will add the rest of web services and try to detect the one making trouble :)

    Thanks

    Hello,

Web components removed and reinstalled. Same problem.

    The URL is server/.../Company('companyname')/QSales

The company name includes a "," character and spaces but the url encode look good.

    Services restarted and nothing changed.

What is the URL you are trying ? also try by restarting the services and once again check if OData is Enabled on the service.

    Hi Suresh,

I read that article and renamed every web service published, nothing changes.

I can't see any log in windows application, sql or nav.

Check this link it could be something related to duplicate name

    forum.mibuso.com/.../odata-doesnt-working

Please in your event view you should have some information about the error over there if not check in SQL log.
