Problem with inventory when selling parent - child items

This problem is on one store database with RMS 2.0.2022 and SQL Server Express 2005.

We have created an item: 018200531439 (case), and an item: 01811524 (child). There are 24 child items in the case.

We sell the case at $24.00 and set up the child item prices at 1 for $1.69  4 for $1.25 and 12 for $1.08

Inventory for the case (parent) was 2 and the unit (child) was 242

When we sold 4 units, both our parent and child inventory counts when out of sync. The parent increased by 6 cases and the child reduced to 0.

We have reindexed the database in Store Administrator, but the problem continues. We even tried deleting and recreating both parent and child items, but the result is the same.

A second store selling same items does not encounter same problem.

We know that support for RMS is about to end, but can anyone give us some insight.

RE: Problem with inventory when selling parent - child items

    HI seminolebs,

In testing in my environment, I was unable to replicate this issue.

I set this up in my environment:

Then sold 4 at the POS:

After the sale, the system now shows 11 cases and 22 of the singles as available:

The total quantity of the child items would be 242-4 which is 238. However, this is then converted back into 9 of the parent cases (9x24=216) plus 22 of the child items (238-216=22).

The 9 parent cases converted from the child qty, plus the 2 parent cases that were previously showing, equals the 11 parent cases showing as available.

Just a note that Mainstream support for Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0 ended on July 10, 2016; and extended support ends on 7/13/2021:

This is less than 7 weeks from now; and you can continue using RMS after this date, but technical support will not be available.

I would recommend checking with your partner regarding what they may recommend as a replacement system after the extended support end date.
