Hi,
I created a field in account entity and its automatically locked on the form.
I have checked the field properties and everything seems to be fine lock by default is not checked and there is no JS to lock the field.
Please advise what could be the problem, Any help or guidance to resolve this is highly appreciated.

Is the Field Requirement of this field system required?
If so, you can not remove it from the form, you have to set it to optional.
Few field type are read only by default , for example - calculated , roll up type field. So check the field type. Also as suggested above by Pravin check business rules and user security role with append and append to access for the entity if the field type is lookup.
Could you please share more details of field such as field type etc.
Check if any business rule is there on entity or else
If it is lookup then check whether that user having read access of that lookup entity.
