Service orders no longer include the resource or cost items when you post

Please help me with the following issue from a Business Central customer:

After the last Microsoft update the Service orders no longer include the resource or cost items when you post.

previous to the update when you added a resource to the service item work sheet it would update the "QTY to ship" and the "Qty to invoice" lines with the appropriate number. this would tell the system to include these charges on the invoice. (note that these fields are not available under the personalization and require the "Designer" to add them. )

Were these changes part of a wider extension? If there is a compatibility issue then the database doesn’t upgrade - so nothing to consider on that front. Could it be someone has uninstalled the app by mistake?

Hi Joe,

The system is a relatively new install, only went live in February. While we customized a lot in the sales orders side. the service side is untouched. I checked all the extensions that were installed previous to the Microsoft update and they are all still installed/active. The main issue is that before the update, when we posted the finished service orders it would invoice the resource and cost lines with the service items and parts used to fix the item. When I dug deeper I noticed that on table 5902 (Service Line) the "qty to ship" and "qty to invoice" were zero. The only environment change between when it worked and when it didn't was the last update.

I think you may have missed something pl refer screenshots below

Also how are you using service order was there some customizations done? Check if they are installed in the upgraded version as well ?

The value for those 2 fields gets updated from Qty field as seen above so as soon as I enter some value it shows in those 2 fields

Can you confirm if your qty field is populated ?

First I want to say thank you to you and Josh (I am not sure where I got Joe from my apologies) for taking time to help.

We are on version 20.0.37253.38055 Region CA.

Vinita, to answer your questions

1.there are no customizations on the service orders, also I have check to make sure that all other customizations are installed.

2. Yes I can confirm that qty is populated. Screen shot below.

Apologies if it is to small, I am not well versed in forums .

In my sandbox I used the designer to add the Qty to ship to the field, then manually populated it, however if there are items on the service order it resets the qty to ship on resource and cost lines.

just to be clear the repo steps for this one is

create new service order, add an item, a resource and a cost , then manually add the qty to ship to each field. (with the exception of the inventory item because the warehouse documents handle that one.

I then create the warehouse shipment documents , pick sheet, ect. and "ship" the items only. After the items are shipped we usually go back to the Service order and ship and invoice on the original document so that the items and resources are on the same invoice. However when I get back to the worksheet line, the qty to ship has been reset to zero
