AX 2009 Item Coverage

Posted on by 2,695

Is there a way to set the Production Lead Time Active, Working Days check box on the Item coverage record so that it defaults for all BOM items?  This setting is affecting the futures date calculation during master planning.  For other settings of this type, I have found a default on the coverage group, but not for this one.

Not in base AX but you can modify the system to do such.  A few options:

    1) Hardcode the initialization of the field whenever a new item coverage record is created.

    2) Dynamic initialization off of the parameter screen.  (Basically add a new parameter field and check to see if that field is true when initializing a new item coverage record, if it is, initialize accordingly)

    3) Write a batch job in AX to update these records every night

    4) Write a stored procedure to update these records every night.

     Kind regards.
