Trouble Creating a New Company Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

Hello,

I am trying to transition from Quickbooks Online to D365 for Financials to be consistent with our brand new implementation of D365 CRM. I have run into a number of issues, and hoping someone can guide me through this initial setup.

"Out of the box", the company listed is "Cronus Inc."

I typed in "Assisted Setup" and started working through the list of items.

When I got to "Migrate Business Data" it failed, and stated "Transactions have already been entered. In order to use the wizard, you will need to create a new company to migrate your data."

I thought, fair enough, I'll set up a new company. Googled how to do that.

It was suggested:

1) Go to Setting Icon

2) Go to "My Settings"

3) Click the > beside "Company"

4)Click Create New Company

I followed this process, and received an error stating that I do not have permission to create a new company.

Since then I have checked out the "Companies" record table, and there are two entries.

"My Company" is listed as having "Missing Permissions" in Setup Status.

It's a bit frustrating as I am a Global Administrator in O365, and listed as a "Business Manager" in D365 for Financials. We are a small com

pany and no one else has access to this system.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

    Hello Justin,

You need to be assigned the SUPER permission set with no company specified.

    The following should help:

    Thanks,
