Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Archived)

Page Style/Format

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Below is a screen shot of the Item List Page.  I'm adjusting the format in our Test Database and want to get some of the stock Cronus look back.  I exported the Item List Page from Cronus and Imported it into Test (Page 31).  I also imported the stock Cronus Role Center (Page 9006), and deleted all user personalization in our Test DB.  As you can see in the results below, the format/layout of the Ribbon Bar and Columns don't match up.  Where else would NAV be storing these changes?  How can I go about getting the stock Cronus layout into our Test Database?  In the screenshots below the Cronus example is above what our Test looks like after the Import.

Got it.  So basically I would have to get that Metadata into our Test Environment, or more likely just Open the Profile in Config Mode, manually make the changes we want, then for new users they would see those changes.  Does that sound correct?  Thanks again for the help.

The metadata is different then the actual page, the profile metadata stores all the customizations you have made to the profile and stores it in the table, if you import Profile page it will not bring the metadata.

Ok, but wouldn't you expect the view to be the same if/when I Imported the Profile from Cronus?  One of the first things I did was Imported Page 9006 which is the Order Processor Role Center.  Or is that not what you're referring to when you said Profile?  Thank you.

Zac the tabs are the personalizations made in cronus for each profile that is not the default layout of it, you can verify that in Profile Metadata table in cronus for page 31 if you delete it and restart it will open as you have right now. You need to personalize the profile if you want that.

There are several examples online for that one of the examples is below

Emptied the User Metadata table, Deleted 2 entries in the Object Metadata table and once I recompiled it added a single entry.  Unfortunately the Ribbon on the Item List still isn't correct.  Thanks again for the suggestion.

Delete the data for that page from User MetaData and from Object Metadata. Only for that Object ID and Recompile the Page.

I just deleted everything from the Page Data Personalization Table and re-imported Page 31 from Cronus.  The Item List Ribbon Bar is still not correct, the Reports are all compressed under a single tab.  Thank you for the suggestion.

My Profile Metadata table is empty.  I've also tried Exporting and Importing the Profile from the Cronus database and it didn't make a difference.  The Page is 9006.
