Production order split function - "Allow partial reservation" as default, why?

Posted on by 75

Hi,

We are evaluating the split function of a Production order.

In our setup (Production Control parameter) we have "Require full reservation" on the "Release to warehouse" setting.

"Require full reservation" is the default value on all production orders created in our system.

The strange thing is that if I use the split function, the newly created production order gets the "allow partial reservation" setting.

The original order remains "Require full reservation".

I can't find any settings or other way to get the new order to require full reservation after the split is done.

But to be honest, I can't really understand why AX wouldn't use the same production setting as for all other production orders created.

Does anyone have experience about the split production order function and may provide some knowledge in this area?

    Hi Mr W

I tested in a very recent version of R3, and find the same behaviour. You might have some success if you ask your Partner to log this with MS.... seems like incorrect behaviour to me.
