Auto save a Read-Only record using js

I am tring to set owner of a record using js, since the owner is still with other person, I am getting "Read-only: You don't have access to edit this record." message. and not able save the form.

Can you guys suggest any resolution?

Hello,

I'm really sorry but your screenshot says the opposite - your user doesn't have update permissions for this record.

There is a button that can show the user's privileges for a current record:

Can you please click it and put a screenshot of the popup here?

User has the update permission, but owner is other user & i am trying to update the owner of the record using js. Any other way of doing it?

Hello,

In order to make it editable - provide an update privilege to the record through user role/sharing of the record.
