I created an Item in Inventory with a U of M as Each. This Item is assembled using 100 units of a "raw" good also using a U of M as Each. I started selling this item requiring my customers to order 1 unit (which would include 100 units of the raw good). Now my customers would rather order 100 units and not 1 unit that has 100 raw parts. What do I need to do to accomodate my customers' request to change the way they order and I receive the purchase order? HELP!

I very much appreciate your help. The original problem was that I was selling this item as a unit of 1 and my customers saw them as units of 100. So, I decided to assemble these as units of 100 raw goods with a fraction of other raw parts that go into the assembled finished good. I had to run a SQL script to change one of the raw parts decimal to accept that part in quantities of 0.01. No biggy. I now assemble the part in quantities of 100.
At this time, I think I have this figured out. Again, thanks for the input!
My Best,
Alan
Hi,
Why couldn't you just sell them 100 units of the raw good? Is the problem that you have already assembled several of the items that include 100 units of the raw good under a different part number? You could 'disassemble' the items with inventory transactions. Take out 1 assembly and put in 100 raw items. Depending on the number of decimals in your UofM settings, you could add a UofM that is 1/100th of the item being sold. Depending on the circumstances, you might consider using Kits instead of assemblies.
What are the specifics of your requirements and the roadblocks you are running into?
Kind regards,
Leslie
