In addition to what Richard is suggesting you also might consider running the DBCC commands for checkalloc and checkdb. We run dbcc checkalloc *database* nightly and dbcc ckeckdb *database* weekly.
Also I think the administrator should verify running the backups. We run backups of each database nightly

Daily is in most cases too frequent unless your firm has special requirements. The typical frequently monitored issues include:
Disk Space -- Do you have enough? Do you need to archive/purge?
Security -- Typically the administrator manages security. You want to know it is correct and no one else is changing it for you.
Reconciles / Check Links -- Some tables (inventory) need to be reconciled frequently (monthly to daily depending on the size of your firm) to maintain accurate allocations. Others need reconciling only when there is a problem (sales line items do not add up to sales order total, for example)
Most of an administrator's time is spent supporting users in doing their jobs. They should call you with any issues.
