How Do You Offset A Transaction That Was Originally Voided?

Posted on by 310

A check was issued out Purchasing. When it was reported that check was lost, it was voided out of the system. However, it was discovered later that the check had cleared the bank. How would we go about making sure that transaction is reflected in GP? Is there a way to reverse a voided transaction?

Thank you,

I'm not positive, but once a check has been voided, I don't think it can be reversed. If I were in the same position and cared about the correct check number being reflected in GP, I would go through the steps of creating a new check, allow for checks to be created with the duplicate check numbers under Checkbook Maintenance, "print" and post the check again. Here are some more detailed steps from Victoria Yudin: www.erpsoftwareblog.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-gp-tip-how-to-recreate-a-vendor-check

If you don't care about the correct check number being reflected, I would just create a cash receipt for it.
