Switch Dynamics CRM Online Licenses

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We need to switch/change quite a few Dynamics 365 licenses for one of our customers.

We obviously need to ensure that there is no loss of data or interruption to service.

In our CSP site we would;

In Partner Centre we would ;

1.  Add the additional subscriptions

2. Update the new subscriptions with the relevant subscription numbers

3. Assign the new licenses

4. Unassign the old licenses from users

5. Reduce the number of old subscriptions

Is this the recommended process ?

    Yes, as long as the users are not without any license.
    You could assign licenses more easily via Azure AD or Powershell script if you have access to these.

    Be sure that the new licenses are compliant with the actions of the users in the system.
