Delete item reservation based on Project

Hi Guys,

In a purchase order, my customer incorrectly referenced on an Project. They were actually told not to do so. Now, the items wich were registered with the scanner and advanced warehouse do have a reservation because of the project reference.
Now the item need to be deregistered. But because of the reservation, that is not possible.

Is there any way to either delete the project reference from the purchase order, or to undo the reservation on the item?
This is the inventory Transactions and details.

And here is the project reference in the purchase order that need to be undone:

Doeas anyone know a way to solve this issue?

Kind regards
Simon

You wont be able to remove the project from the PO. Its kind of hard coded.

The Transaction is the Project consuming that inventory; have you tried to click on that Transaction then Inventory>Reservation to remove the reservation? I suspect it is blocked, but worth a try.

Do you want to deregister to receive it on a different PO (non-Project) and have it available in inventory to issue later?  If so, have you tried posting a negative Item Journal from that Project to add the item in inventory?  From there, you could just continue with the Product Receipt with registered quantity.

    Hi Danny,

thanks for your reply. Yes i already tried to remove the reservation. But the system sadly doesnt allow that.

Yes i want do deregister the items, receive it on another PO and then issue it later. But the deregistration doesnt work because of the reservation. I could try that, but wouldn´t that double the onhand inventory quantity? Because i have not issued any materials on the project yet.

    Hi Simon,
See the Pending Transactions on your project.  There might be a way to delete the Pending Transactions, I just don't know it:

After you complete the Product Receipt, the project will have been charged for the item (Posted Transactions). This will happen without any issue being required; the item will come in and out of inventory to be charged to the Project.

What I am suggesting is to do that and then return the item to inventory by doing a negative journal afterwards.  Its a work around to go around this transactional obstacle, without deregistering and receive on a different PO.

    Hi Danny,

Sadly, i couldnt find a way to delete the reservation in the pending Transactions beacause that only shows lines from the item-Journals for the project.

The next bad thing ist, that i can´t post the product receipt in the purchase order, because there is an error regarding the batch number. That might have to do with a customization.

Do you know what happens in the purchase order, if i deregister the item with a movement journal for example, without having the product receipt posted?
If the line status of the purchase order goes form "registered" to "ordered" after i post the movement journal, that could help.
Iam just not sure if that works that way.

    Kind regards

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

What is the status of the PO line? Is it registered only or also posted as product receipt? In case it is posted as product receipt, you can try to cancel the posted receipt. At least this is possible for POs without a link to a project.

    Hi again Simon,
This is concerning your idea of a movement journal.  At this point, it is not about inventory (stock) its about inventory transactions.  That transaction will stay open no matter what you do with the stock.  You have to either reverse it (de-register) or complete it (post product receipt).

An extension blocking the product receipt is bad. Before involving a developer (to troublehoot and hot-fix) I would :
    1) look at PO inventory transaction and confirm the Inventory Dimension string (site, warehouse, inventory status, location, batch number).  Is there something there that does not "jive"?

    2) When launching the Post Product Receipt dialog, make sure you select the Quantity = Registered in the Parameters FastTab.  In the Lines FastTab check to see the inventory transactions there too (still "jiving"?)

    3) Continue with Posting; note the error message if any (punch up the air if it post without error!)
