Were you attempting to return a cash and carry transaction or a customer order (sales order)? If it is a sales order, please note that this is a generic error, and the data update may take some time. Wait a few minutes and then click on the "Amount Due" to refresh the cart. If the transaction went through, this will complete the return in the POS system.

The issue has been identified as a flight that was enabled after the CSU update, which is causing errors when initiating return transactions for serialized items across stores. As confirmed by the Microsoft team, this is a known issue. The Microsoft product team is working on disabling the relevant flight as a quick fix to resolve the problem.
