You can use the GP to CRM adapter if that is what you are referring to. Questions with that are handled by the CRM team/forums.
Dynamics GP and CRM works greatly together when integrated. Although, I would not use the terminology GP embedded in CRM, rather I would say integrate Dynamics GP with Dynamics CRM.
We have worked on several projects in which both Dynamics GP and CRM are implemented and integrated, the results are absolutely stunning. Regarding the connector mentioned by Mr. Jonathan, you may refer to Connector - Integrating Microsoft Dynamics GP with Dynamics CRM

Outlook is the one of the prerequisites\requirement(s) for each version of Dynamics GP.
Old Dynamics GP versions, Microsoft Outlook connector on the user home page was turned on by default.
But in GP2013, Microsoft Outlook Inbox is removed from Microsoft Dynamics GP
Main use is by sending most of the document(s) from corresponding configured modules. please have the look on the below link
