Activity regarding two records

Posted on by 390

Hi

Is it possible to have an activity e.g phone call, appointment, task regarding two records from two different entities? The "regarding" needs to be set to a custom entity record. I have a lookup to contact on the these forms, so i need the activities to show on the contact and also on the regarding record.

Is this possible?

Thanks

That was my thought, but its not possible. If it was a lookup to user then i could use the "equals current user" option but you dont have anything like that on contact when creating a view.

    Hi,

I think that you need to create a new subgrid on your contact form pointing to the activities where the current contact is equal to contact in the lookup

    Hi

Yes that is what i have done. I am setting the regarding field to a record in my custom entity, i then have a subgrid on that record showing all the activities and that works fine as you would expect.

I have created a new lookup pointing to contact, but im struggling to find a way to have those activities show on the contact.

Even if i somewhow managed to get them onto the contact, im not sure how it would then show the different activities for each contact without creating a view for each contact.

    regards

    Hi,

The regarding activityparty can't have more than one record in it (not like the "To" of Emails).

What I suggest you is to create a new lookup pointing either to the contact entity or to your custom entity.
