Anyone seen this....when a user opens Smartlist, either by shortcut Icon, or by going to MGP>Smartlist.....system takes 55-60 second to open the Smartlist window.....can't find anything out there on this....really has the cusotmer frustrated. Any thoughts I am open for.

Thank you for your suggestion - I hadn't thought to actually try cleaning up the SmartLists (we also use SmartList Builder).

Your post came us as I'm researching a similar issue we are having.
Have you had any success resolving your issue?
We are on GP10. We have some users running local client installations, and some running on a terminal server (via RDC) - - we have an older windows 2003 server environment and SQL 2005.
Recently, we noticed it is taking up to 4 minutes for smartlists to start for users connecting via RDC. Like you, once the window opens, smartlists run as expected. Smartlist window on local client installs starts normally.
We don't know when this issue began and have not had success identifying the cause (tested with anti-virus on / off, etc ..) . These users are "occasional" users who don't normally need to run smartlist, hence the delay in noticing there was a problem.
If you do happen to see this, I would love to know if you ever resolved your issue. Like you, I have not been successful in finding documentation on this issue.

Also Steve, if that does not help there is also my last resort.
During some off time, when there is no one else in GP you could use the Profiler from the SQL Server Management Studio to log everything that SQL is doing. I would not start the Profiler trace until just before you click on the SmartList button and then turn the Profiler trace off as soon as smart list comes up.
However, I must caution you SQL Profiler will slow the SQL Server down a lot! So be wise on when to do this.

Great information but doesn't seem to apply to this instance....we are seeing the huge delay on first opening smartlists up to a minute to get the window open.....once in things work as expected...Thank you for the post, anyone have anything else?

Well, I am not sure what version of Microsoft Dynamics GP you are currently using. However, I have seen problems similar to this in the past.
