Hi,

I have problem that when i applied the prepayment in the invoice there is no financial dimensions taken with this line (prepayment application),

So the system is showing error because it requires dimensions based on the account structure ,

How to solve this issue?

notice: i have added the required dimensions in header itself ,

    Hi ahmed.kimo,

A 'quick' and easy workaround is to set a fixed financial dimension value for the account that makes you problems.

Let's say that your error message says that account 12345 needs a financial dimension value but that you can't edit this value directly in the forms you work in, then you go to your Chart of accounts, search for the account 12345 and set a fixed financial Dimension value for this account.

Once this is done you should be able to post this transaction.

Thereafter, remove the fixed financial dimension value again from the account.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    HI ludwig

I am also facing same issue , in my case i am shared COA  so there is no default financial dimension option

And this solution is temporary only. in my client company we are creating more than 10 Prepayment per day .so each time changing default option is not feasible.

    Any more solution ludwig

    Hi Jagadeesh Kannan,

Why do you need a financial dimension for prepayments?

    HI Ludwig

In our case, our client uses the project dimension for vendor. so we attached project dimension with payable account.

For prepayment , i have used header dimension for prepayment invoice  and in payment journal i have used dimension for vendor.

But while fetching the prepayment in PO invoice through apply prepayment option , the dimension which i applied in payment time is not fetching by system.

    system applying prepayment without dimension.

    Hi Jagadeesh Kannan,

Can you check the GL parameter under accounting rules - financial dimensions an whether this parameter is set to 'accounting distributions' or 'source document'. If it is set to source document, can you check whether changing it to accounting distributions overcomes the problem?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

The parameter already configured to " Accounting Distribution" .

    Hi Jagadeesh Kannan,

If it is already set to Accounting Distribution, then the dimension inheritance does not work the way how you expect / need it. If you need the financial dimension for your prepayment in the way described, I would say that you have to modify the Standard functionality then.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
