Employees integration for appointment and email

What is the best way to onboard employees who do not have access to Dynamics 365 onpremise ? We need to add employees in our organization for appointments or even sending emails and we are looking for the best option to do so.

The problem arises for employees who do not have a Dynamcis license.

At the moment we have 4 options:

  • Use the Contact entity (and create email alias)
  • Use the systemuser entity (and deactivate users who don’t need licence)
  • Create a custom entity (with email)
  • Create a virtual entity (with emai and based on AD)

Options 1, 2 and 3 require a lot of management since we have to keep the list of employees updated regularly, which takes a lot of effort.

Has anyone ever created a virtual entity with AD?

Thanks
