    Hi, hope the following helps.

Business Central 2026 release wave 1 (BC28): Map new Dataverse fields (New and custom Dataverse tables are readily available for mapping from the lookup on Integration Table column)

    https://yzhums.com/71914/

    Thanks

    Hello,

This new error is different from the v28.4 “generation has not been started” issue, and importantly, custom Business Central tables are supported in v28—Microsoft explicitly states that the New Table Mapping wizard can select standard or custom BC tables. The message now means BC started generating the runtime Dataverse integration/proxy fields but couldn't create one or more of them. In your screenshot, the existing mapping already looks suspicious because Integration Table Field No. = 47 but Integration Field Name is blank, which may indicate that the mapping created under 28.4 was left partially generated. Since you are now on 28.5, I would first delete and recreate the PM-TEST table mapping completely, rather than continue adding fields to the old mapping; refresh the Dataverse field list, specify the correct Dataverse primary GUID field as the Unique Identifier and Modified On field, and initially test with one simple Text ↔ Text field. Microsoft also requires mapped fields to be enabled, not FlowField/FlowFilter, and limited to supported types such as Code, Text, Integer, Decimal, Boolean, Date/DateTime, GUID, etc.; incompatible types can fail generation/synchronization. Also perform the setup with a BC administrator and verify the Dataverse connection/integration user permissions (Microsoft requires System Administrator rights during integration setup); if necessary use Dataverse Connection Setup → Redeploy Integration Solution to restore the integration security role. If a newly recreated mapping still fails even with one simple supported field, I would raise a Microsoft support case because this is the new v28 runtime-mapping functionality rather than implement an AL workaround immediately.

Hi, this message it comes from the new v28 part where BC creates custom Dataverse columns in the integration table at runtime, and it's still quite fresh.

In your screenshot the Integration Field Name is empty, only field no. 47 is there, so the column was never really created. I'd delete the line and the mapping, run Test Connection in Dataverse Connection Setup, and build it again with one simple Text field first. Entry No. as bidirectional I wouldn't do anyway, it's a primary key in BC.

If a plain text field fails too, it's not your setup. Then open a support ticket, could easily be a bug.

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.

►  If this solved it, marking it verified helps others too.
