Does anyone know whether the Cash Balance on the Management Reporter Balance sheet should show the "net change" in cash or whether it should show the actual cash balance.

How the balances are displayed should be controlled in the Column Layout. When you have your report definition open, you can see the different building blocks listed for the report (row, column, and possibly tree). If you click the icon next to the column, this will open up the column. It's the Period Covered option for the the particular column that controls what balance is brought in. You should see Periodic or YTD (there's others as well but not used near as much).

Our Management Reporter was set up for us. I'm wondering if I can change it so the month I'm reviewing shows the actual balance.
The first month of our fiscal year was August, and the Year to Date Balance is different than the August Balance. In the first month of the year, it would make sense to have it show the same balance as year to date.

From my experience the majority of balance sheets that I've seen are YTD balances. I'm not sure if there is really a right or a wrong, it depends on what you want to see. But if you are showing the cash the one way, then the rest of the report should be the same that way the report will balance.
