How to prevent creating tasks and emails in crm

Dear everybody,

I am using the crom outlook client which is great because I am able to create tasks and emails which are shown within my crm online. Is there a way to prevent users from creating tasks and emails in crm? My goal is to create those activities only within Outlook and just make them visible in crm when created.

Hi Amber,

if you restrict users to create those activities in CRM; and any user craetes a task or email in outlook, when they sync it to CRM, they will face error coz they dont have permissions in CRM.

What best you can do is hide new button for tasks and emails by using ribbon workbench.

Hiding buttons will also not restrict users completely as they can use 'Advance find' to search records and 'New' is visible there as well, which you cant hide.
