AX 2012 R3 CU13 performance issues

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello all,

From time to time, AX 2012 R3 CU13 slows down considerably. Especially during month end when journals are being posted. Journal lines can vary from 10 - 1000.

Despite the line difference, the symptom is the same. Where posting for e.g usually takes 5 - 10 minutes, during month end it can take 30 + minutes.

Has anyone experienced similar performance issues and if so, can you all please share any recommendations.

Really appreciate your feedback.

As an Idea, you can use  Install and run LCS System diagnostics  to monitor your system health  and Diagnostics

    refer: docs.microsoft.com/.../install-run-system-diagnostics-lcs

Apart from that, there are tools like DynamicsPerf /Trace Parser

    Refer: docs.microsoft.com/.../tools-for-monitoring-performance

First of all , you will need to use those tools and collect data and statistics to find out performance bottlenecks,  and then you have facts and figures to decide what needs to be fine-tuned as a first step?. Infrastructure or the System.

also, you may need to ensure that best practices are in place as recommended in AX 2012 installation guide: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    Thanks,

    Amith.

    Hi Kenya786,

When you experience the slowness mainly during month end, I do think it might be related to database blocks. You can start monitoring SQL for fragmented indexes and also blocking SQL statements. If there are blockings, then try to find where the blocking SQL statement is coming from. Blocking SQL statements can be caused by customizations, but can also have other reasons.
