i attach files in journals in both:
 
  1. Accounts receivable
  2. \Payments
  3. Customer\payment journal
  4.  
  1. Accounts payable
  2. \Payments
  3. Vendor\payment journal
but after posting, all attachments gone !!

 
note: it works fine in procurement , sales order & service order

    Hey,
     
    Could you tell us if you are having the issue in Finance or Finance & Operations?
     
    I tested this in 10.0.39 F&O, for both lines and the journal itself and it works fine.
     
     
     
     
     
    It may sound stupid, but have you check if you attached it to the journal or the lines, and if you check the same after posting?
    Does it work in other journals for the same user? If it is a different user, check if document handling is on. 
     
     
    Could you try to save, leave the journal and see if it is still there? Maybe its not saved at all, that may be the issue and not the posting process itself.
    Have you any customizations on the journal or the attachments?
     
     
    Also, you can check here how to add attachments after the journals are posted, just to fix the already posted journals, until you find the issue.
