Is it advisable to run 2 NAV Servers connected to the same SQL database?

We have a client who has 3 servers setup. One is a SQL server. The other two servers run the NAV service, each with their own instance, but they both connect to the same SQL database. Their goal is that they would like all of the Windows client connections to go through one, and all of the web client traffic to go through the other. Is this supported? Is it advisable? Will this cause issues? 

Any and all insight and experience is welcome. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Hi ztodtenhagen,

    It is recommended, better for load balancing and system maintenance.

    Yes, it is possible and even recommended setup. Refer to official records:

    This is a recommended scenario. Normally the limit is about 40/50 users for service. Splitting the NAV service tier in more than one and redirect the users accordingly is a great choice. And if you need to restart a service, all other users can work.
