CRM 2011 - Issues with Sending emails from CRM

We are using CRM 2011 and having issues while sending emails using the Campaign functionality .The emails are created but are left in " PENDING SEND " status. Checked for error messages in Event Viewer and it says the following

FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]: 'CampaignActivity' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'campaignactivityid'. (Fault Detail is equal to Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault)

In the Campaign Activity entity - we have Activityid attribute - Type - PRIMARY KEY

Now If I create a new attribute with the above ID will it solve the problem or anyone has a different solution to fix the problem ?

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi sachin2013,

I believe the 'pending send' behavior might be related to email delivery and not campaign.

If email is already created and is pending send, I would check if the sender mailbox is correctly enabled and configured for outgoing emails.

A simple test would be sending a new email with the same sender to any test email so you can check if the delivery will work correctly.

If this email is not sent, then follow these steps:

What kind of email system are you using? Email Router?

If it is Email Router, please follow these instructions to collect verbose logs: support.microsoft.com/.../how-to-enable-tracing-for-the-microsoft-dynamics-crm-e-mail-router-a84540f7-964c-181d-837d-3b06a6f54c70

RE: CRM 2011 - Issues with Sending emails from CRM

    Hi Flavia

Many Thanks for replying to my query.

    To answer your questions

YES - we are using CRM Email Router 2011

All User Settings for email are as follows

Email Access Type Incoming - Forward Mailbox

Email Access Type Outgoing - Email Router

I made all the changes in the article link you provided but still the emails are still in " PENDING SEND " status.

To test it - I tried to send an email to myself from CRM, when checked in ACTIVITIES - CRM displays the following message

" THIS MESSAGE HAS NOT YET BEEN SUBMITTED FOR DELIVERY. FOR MORE INFORMATION, SEE HELP"

    CRM SERVER

On CRM SERVER - I went to CRM EMAIL ROUTER CONFIGURATION MANAGER - USER, QUEUES & FORWARDMAILBOXES (TAB) ,to check TEST ACCESS for my account and it comes as Successful - Message displayed as followed

    OUTGOING STATUS - As SUCCEEDEED

So I am still not sure where the problem is & why weren't able to send emails from CRM 2011?

Any inputs from your end is highly appreciated.

    Hi Flavia

After making all the changes as recommended on the article you sent - I am still getting the below error message which was similar one to the one when I raised the ticket.

#61346 - An error occurred while checking for outgoing e-mail messages to process for SMTP System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]: 'CampaignActivity' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'campaignactivityid'. (Fault Detail is equal to Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault).

Also check out my second post for further details related to the issue.

    Hi Ossama

There is no Custom code running on CampaignActivity entity.  I checked "SHOW DEPENDENCIES " and most of the "COMPONENT TYPE " are " ENTITYTYPE RELATIONSHIP"  & in the " MANAGED SOLUTION" column it's displaying " SYSTEM SOLUTION" which I assume is the OOB feature.
