GP2013 port protocol?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have been asked by our Network and Security Engineer to provide the port protocol information.  Is that information in an installation and architectural requirements guide of some sort that I can reference?

Thank you, Ken.  I will reach out to the team and see what further information we can locate.  We have an interesting issue where we have our GP citrix session taking priority if it is opened before another app is launched but not the reverse.

I appreciate your time and Harry's on this.

    Hi Melissa,

I would really recommend that your admin look at Citrix's documentation for this:

    Hello, Harry:

I shared your reply with our network engineer this morning, and his reply indicates that this gives us a partial answers.  He indicates that this answer will give us all our back-end database connectivity, but we need to know what ports/protocol are needed for users to connect to GP and use the application (via Citrix, if that information is more helpful).  Do you have any further guidance you might offer?

Your system admin can refer to this Knowledgebase article to open the ports required by SQL Server, the foundation of Dynamics GP. It is possible for default SQL ports to be changed, so this may not be universally applicable.

The admin can also make application exceptions in the firewall configuration for Dynamics GP, whatever the version.

Finally, Management Reporter's default install is to 4712, but this can be changed during install. This information can be found in the Management Reporter installation documentation, included with the install code, or available online.
