Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Archived)

Could not open the '' company. There is no company in the database

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

Very very new to Dynamics NAV 2015, just completed a clean install on 2008 R2, everything seems to work OK except for new user getting error when trying to connect via webclient:

Could not open the '' company. There is no company in the database. Contact your system administrator.

Can connect as Administrator OK both internally and externally, I think the issue must be to do with SQL as the new user is authenticated at the login prompt with no problem.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

The answer was the new user has no permission set.

    Through Dynamics NAV client go to> departments> administration> application setup> Users>

Select user setup, double click on any user to show users popup, then highlight user and select edit, then reveal User Permission Set at the bottom and finally add the required permission set for that particular user - no long winded at all Microsoft!
