CRM 2011 Rollup 12 Availability

Posted on by 261

Hi just wondering if anyone has any information on the availability of CRM 2011 Rollup 12.

It has been released apparently...

Update Rollup 12 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 (KB 2795627)

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36229

However certain update files are not available, No Server, Email Router, or SSRS update files.

Only the client and MUI updates are available for downloading..

Anyone know why some files are not available?

Have MS pulled them already? (...that didn't take long ;)

thx

If you are having issues with the CRM for Outlook client after Update Rollup 12, please create a case with CRM Support, as this will assist us in identifying this issues.

The Outlook client for office 2010 doesn't seem to be ready. Upgraded client's online version and cannot get the Outlook client to upgrade at all. And, I cannot rollback the online version. Now, the outlook client runs BRTUALY SLOW. I recommend waiting for rollup 12 to settle down, especially if you use outlook.

Re: CRM 2011 Rollup 12 Availability

    Guys,

As a regular practice, I normally advise our customers to wait until the next Update Rollup has been released and it is confirmed as stable before installing the previous Update Rollup.

For example, most of our customers are currently waiting for Update Rollup 12 to be released and reported as stable so they can install Update Rollup 11.

When UR 13 comes out then they will move into UR 12.

This is a practice that doesn't guarantee you the latest and greatest features as soon as they come out, but it increases the "safety" of your data and database dramatically when you do introduce those changes.

    Good Luck!

    Hi,

I'd like to strongly suggest you do NOT yet install MUI Rollup 12, at least not the Finnish one. I'm aware of two separate On Premise deployments where the RU 12 for Finnish MUI (via Windows Update) messes up the ribbon when using Finnish language. Uninstalling the RU solved the issue on both occasions.

    BR,

Thanks for the answer Lior and Aaron.

for anyone who is still wondering, the official update (taken from the link Lior posted) is..

Update on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 12 Release

    Bob Stutz 15 Jan 2013 10:23 AM

I'd like to give an update on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup (UR) 12 Release. We originally made UR12 available on Thursday, January 10th, to deliver multi-browser support for our On Premises customers. After discovering an issue that could potentially impact a customer's database, we withdrew the UR12 Server bits to ensure that no On Premises customers would be affected. Unfortunately, these bits were available on the Microsoft Download Center for a short period of time. If you downloaded the UR12 Server bits, please do not install them. We plan to repost the UR12 Server bits within the next week, and we will keep you informed as to when they are available. We have taken measures to improve our engineering processes and methodologies going forward, and we take your feedback very seriously. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Re: CRM 2011 Rollup 12 Availability

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for the post. Update Rollup 12 has not yet been released. If you notice in the article, this still states that it is a pre-release article. See below:

This article is being provided as a prerelease notification of changes that are likely to be included with Update Rollup 12. The items in this prerelease article are subject to change before the public release of the Update Rollup. When publicly released, this article will be updated to reflect the items that actually were included in the final Update Rollup 12 package.

In addition, the client updates were released a few days ago due to the rollout of the December Service Update for CRM Online. At this time the Microsoft CRM Product Group is reviewing  the Update Rollup 12  release for On-Premise. Please stay tuned for updates.

I can only see the following downloads available for English..

    Server update components are missing.

Anyone have any updates on the availability of the missing components?
