Can I change "first date of reporting period 1" in Project Timesheet Setup?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

My client is on version 10.00.1319, using Project Accounting for timesheets.

Due to a new union requirement, they need to change their pay period to Monday-Sunday instead of what they had before.

I know in previous GP versions, you were not allowed to change "First Date of Reporting Period 1" if timesheets had been posted. However, now it appears that this can be changed.

My question is, will there be any adverse effect to data or processing if we change this date?

Thanks.

Did you get an answer to your query?

We are currently on GP2015 R2 and we have a similar issue, multiple companies, each having a different First Date of Reporting Period 1 (due to acquisition dates), and now they all want to have the same start date for their timesheets in project accounting.

We are considering resetting each company to 01-Jan-2017, but first wanted to understand if there would be any negative impact in doing so.  One company uses both timesheets and expense reports.  The other, only timesheets.
