Changing UofM Issue

Posted on by 1,175

We had U of M schedule setup based on inner box counts for each item.

For example:

Item A

UofM Schedule: 25

Base UofM: EA

Equivalent:

EA = 1 EA

INN = 25 EA

However, UofM conversion was changed from 25 in inner to 150 in inner, and now have huge problem.

Item A

UofM Schedule: 150

Base UofM: EA

Equivalent:

EA = 1 EA

INN = 150 EA

Due to the conversion change, unit cost was too low and qty was more than supposed to be.

Could anyone please advise how we can fix? Because sales were posted already with wrong cost, we would like to revalue cost by adjusting inventory if it is possible.

If there are any solutions, please let me know.

    You should post sales returns to get back to where you started, then create a new inventory item and assign it to the new unit of measure schedule.

    The old stock will have the old u of m schedule and the new stock will have the new u of m schedule.

    I've been burned by that adjust cost utility before, and changing the U of M schedules is risky business.

    Hi Babu,

    Thank you for the response. We have 1,000 of items had same  issue and assigned to more than 30 site IDs. Adjust cost utility can only update one by one and will take a lot of time to update each item.

    Is there another work around way?

    Hi,

    You can adjust the inventory cost by going to utilities of inventory.  Please have a look at this nice post from community on the same.
