Specify wait in Real-time-marketing Journeys

Posted on by 33
Hi,

As we are working on the transition from outbound marketing to real time marketing we recognized that in yourneys in real time marketing we cannot specify the wait.

In outbound marketing the wait can be specified directly in the journey, e.g.

In real time marketing I haven't found any option to specify the wait. We need to specify it in order to avoid that emails are sent during night or on the weekend.

Can anyone help and knows how to specify the wait in real time marketing?

Thanks and kind regards
Tanja

    Hi Tanja,

we had a similar question a few days ago maybe this helps:

Basically the function can be used via the wait timers or you need some patience until the new feature is released in October.

    Regards
    Pauline

    Hi,

Based on the information you provided, we conducted some tests. The results demonstrate that it is possible to specify dates to send emails.
The test procedure is as follows:

Step 1. Add a formula column field in Contact Form which automatically shows what day of the week it is today, and will update as the date changes.

In the Contact Form ,today is Wednesday.

Step 2. Create a trigger and set up a real-time journey based on the trigger.

Set condition: when the value of the Day of Week field is equal to any of Monday to Friday, the trigger is activated; when it is equal to Saturday or Sunday, the trigger is not activated.

    Step 3. Verify the results.
    1. Select the target contacts and change their status to activate the trigger.

    1. In the journey you can see that the email was sent successfully to the target contacts.

If you have a need for this kind of out-of-box functionality, it's recommended that you suggest this idea to the Microsoft official.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li
